A magi drive uses permanent magnets on the mechanical linear/rotation assmebly to couple with the permanent magnets on the process shaft without any physical contact between the two. A ferrofluid drive uses magnetic particles suspended in a viscous low vapor pressure fluid that promotes rotational energy transfer between the rotation assembly with the process shaft.
