The MD40N and MD40A utilize the same body, and specifications, as their MD16 counterparts, while being containing on the larger DN40 (2.75 CF) flange. Drive torque ratings for these units cover the span from 0.45 Nm up to 1.8Nm as standard.
The MD40N and MD40A benefit from our simple actuation upgrade options that enable a manual version to be upgraded with motorization or pneumatic actuation via a simple 'do it yourself' upgrade kit.

Manual Options
| Code | Actuation Method | Description |
| T | Standard MD Thimble | A calibrated thimble gives a visual indication of the drive position with one degree increments. It is fitted with the friction control system as standard. |
| P | Timing Pulley | A pulley is mounted on the end of the drive allowing users to install their own motor assemble. |
| D | Dual Shaft | MagiDrives can be supplied with both input & output shafts. This allows the customer to retrofit their own motorization option or to fit a position encoder. |

Pneumatic Options

| RA | Pneumatic In-Line Rotary Actuator | Pneumatically actuated MagiDrives are fitted with an adjustable rotary actuator providing from 30-170° sweep. Flow controllers enable input and exhaust to be throttled to control speed. |
| RAI | Rotary actuator w/visual position indicators & reed switches | As above but fitted with two reed switches to provide position feedback for system interlock facilities. This option also includes LED's allowing the user to see the position of the shutter in open or closed states. |
Gear Option Table
