Apiezon H Hydrocarbon Greases

Apiezon^® H is inert, high molecular weight hydrocarbon grease that is used in a variety of applications in science and industry at high temperatures. The actual temperature range of Apiezon^® H is quite broad, however, the optimum consistency range is only between 10-110°C. This allows the grease to have a relative stiff property, and will not melt, but become stiffer as the temperature increases. Apiezon^® H grease exhibits heat transfer properties where the grease directs heat away from the site of operation, which reduces the risk of overheating to heat-sensitive components. Apiezon^® H is composed of a high proportion of branched and unsaturated hydrocarbons that gives this grease a complex structure and high molecular weight. These properties also give Apiezon^® H grease strong powers of absorption, specifically to other hydrocarbon molecules, where the grease to able to absorb greasy or chemical impurities on metal and glass surfaces.

Removal

Apiezon^® H grease has no contamination effect on electrical equipment and is easily removed through use of water, soapy water, hydrocarbon solvents (Limonene, Toluene, Xylene) or chlorinated solvents (Trichloroethylene). When Apiezon^® H is removed, it also takes away trace impurities that are not removed by solvents alone.

Vacuum Properties

Apiezon^® H grease has unique properties because it can exhibit vacuum properties in the lower to medium vacuum range at higher temperatures (>110°C), as well at lower temperatures (<110°C) Apiezon^® H grease can be used in the high vacuum range.

It is strongly recommend using all fluids and greases at the time of receipt, however when storage is necessary, rotate older stock into use first and observe the recommended parameters listed below.

All Apiezon products have a shelf life of 10 years if unopened in their original container and stored at ambient temperatures. If the product has been opened, resealed and then stored in clean, dry, dark environment under ambient conditions in the original container, it should last up to 10 years, but this is not guaranteed.
